Adanac Camp
On the last 2 days of Term 1, our students will be attending Adanac Camp. You will shortly receive an email inviting you to let the campsite know of any special dietary needs for your child.
P.B.L.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students have demonstrated our PBL (Positive Behaviours for Learning) expectations so far this year. One of our three school values is Resilience, and the 3/4 students continue to demonstrate this in wonderful ways across all learning areas.
This week, we took a deeper dive into what “I can do my best” truly means. Students explored questions such as:
- What does doing our best look like?
- Why is it important to do our best?
- How can we show it every day in our learning and interactions?
As part of this learning, 3/4 students completed a “Resilience Drawing” task. Through their drawings, they demonstrated how they can do their best by following instructions carefully, persisting when tasks feel challenging, listening attentively, and taking pride in their work.
It has been fantastic to see students reflecting on their own learning behaviours and recognising that doing their best sometimes means trying again, asking for help, or staying focused even when something feels tricky. We look forward to continuing to build resilience together throughout the year!

Mathematics
In mathematics, students have been focusing on place value, working with 5- and 6-digit numbers. They have been learning to read, write and represent these larger numbers in different ways, developing a deeper understanding of how each digit’s position determines its value.
To support their learning, students used place value counters to physically build and break apart numbers. This hands-on approach helps children really see how numbers are made and understand the value of each digit. The class thoroughly enjoyed using the materials and showed great confidence with this task.
We will continue exploring place value for a few more days before moving on to addition and subtraction strategies.
Please note that maths fluency homework will begin next week. This short, regular practice will help students develop automatic recall and confidence with key number facts.
Remote Learning
Thank you to all the parents for your support with our recent remote learning days, and to the wonderful 3/4 students who demonstrated responsibility and resilience completing their remote tasks.
