News from Foundation

WOW! Another two weeks have gone by, and the Foundations have truly begun to settle into their new routines and friendships. We are so proud of how confidently they are coming into the classroom each morning, organising their belongings, and getting started with their learning.
Over the past two weeks, we have been focusing on building independence, practising our classroom rules, and strengthening our early literacy and numeracy skills through fun, hands-on activities.
The Foundations have enjoyed story time, creative art projects, counting games, and working together! It has been lovely to see new friendships forming and growing every day.
Thank you for your continued support at home – it is wonderful to see the Foundations becoming happy, confident members of our school community!
Library
The Foundation students have been enjoying their visits to the library each week and seeing all the amazing books that we have! It is so nice to see the Foundations sharing the books together and telling each other about the books they are reading!
Maths
In Maths, the Foundations have been learning lots about patterns and making patterns using lots of different materials like counters, blocks, teddies and more! Here is a pattern we made as a class!
Literacy
In Literacy, the Foundation students have started learning letters!!! They have now learned: S A T P. They have been practising writing letters, and now this week they learned to read and write their first words!!!! Here are some photos of their first learned words: at & sat!
Inquiry
This term in Inquiry, the Foundation students are focusing on the theme of 'Identity'. We started off the unit talking about all the special things that make us who we are. We created our own self-portraits based on the story ‘It’s ok to be different’ by Todd Parr.
