Physical Education

Cricket

We started our year in PE, learning and practicing some cricket skills.  These included driving the ball off a tee, throwing and bowling.  These activities gave all students the opportunity to experience the different skills of the game without joining in match play.

A number of our students have some big cricket matches coming up with local clubs, so good luck to all of them!

Winter Olympics

With the Winter Olympics in full swing, I thought we could mix up this week's PE and enjoy some modifications to these winter sports, largely because of our lack of snow and ice, but anyway!!!

We did some slalom races, a cross between ice hockey and curling, the luge and the highlight - figure skating.  What I learnt is that it just might be that St Joseph's has the most willing but totally ungraceful sock skaters in the world.  That aside, I probably worked with the happiest sock skaters in the world.  The grins and laughter were amazing.
