Student Achievements

Here at St Joseph's College we love to celebrate our students and their incredible achievements in and out of school.

But we can't celebrate it if we don't know about it! If your child or another student that you know is involved in something that you think deserves to be acknowledged please complete the form below and we'll do our best to share it!

Ava recently competed at the 2024 PETstock Equestrian Victorian Interschool State Championships, where she was awarded Preliminary Reserve Championship Intermediate and third overall in the Show Hunter Intermediate.

Her success has gained her a spot on the Victorian Team which will compete at the National competition in Tamworth during September.

What an incredible achievement Ava and we wish you all the best!

She acheived the following results:

Athletics - Scarlett & Amalie Southern

The Southern sisters are absolutley flying in athletics at the moment! Having both competed at The Australian National Athletic Championships recently in Adelaide they did very well against some very talented athletes.

Amalie achieved a new personal best by 20 seconds achieving 8th in Australia in the U15 2K Steeple.

Scarlett also achieved a new personal best of 58.23 seconds, making her an under 20 national qualifier and 13th in Australia in the U18 400m against some very tough competition with 27 athletes in her age group this year.

And in some very exciting news, Scarlett has been selected to represent regional Australia at the upcoming Oceania Athletics Championships in Suva, Fiji in June this year in the 400m and 800m! This will be Scarlett’s first opportunity to compete internationally and we wish her all the best!

AFLW - Beth Morris

Huge congratulations to Beth Morris who was selected in the final squad of the U16 VIC Country team.

The team played two games during April and we are so proud of Beth and the way she has represented the Bendigo Pioneers and Victoria with strength and determination!

Well done Beth we look forward to seeing what your future holds!

AFL - Jobe Shanahan

We’d like to acknowledge Year 12 student, Jobe Shanahan, for his selection in the AFL Academy squad, which features many of the country’s most promising footballers eligible for the 2024 AFL Draft.

The AFL Academy played the first of its two showcase games on Saturday, but unfortunately went down by 26 points to Coburg at Ikon Park.

Jobe, who has been described as a dynamic tall forward, booted the game’s opening goal with a nicely struck 40m set shot.

We wish Jobe all the best with his subsequent games and look forward to watching where his AFL journey takes him.
