Year 10 Work Experience

Just a quick reminder that the deadline for submitting Year 10 Work Experience forms is swiftly approaching! With only one week left until the May 1 deadline, please ensure that all forms are completed, signed by students, parents and the work experience provider, and returned to St Joseph’s College.

Scheduled for the first week of Term 3, our Work Experience program offers flexibility, allowing students to opt for participation during Week 1 or 2 of the July school holidays.

To ensure a smooth process, we've provided resources to assist parents and students, including a comprehensive Work Experience Presentation and Work Experience Forms.

We encourage parents to engage with their children in securing a suitable work experience placement and promptly returning the necessary forms to the school. Should you have any queries, Beth Crossman (Pathways Coordinator), and Ben Hearn & Terri Hately (Work Related Skills) are available to provide support and guidance.

Let's make this Work Experience program a rewarding and enriching experience for our Year 10 students!

Year 10 and 11 Exams

The Year 10 and 11 examinations will take place from Friday 7 June to Friday 14 June, in the College Oak Centre.

Year 9 (acceleration), 10 and 11 students will attend an assembly on Tuesday 30 April during period 3 to provide them with expectations, timetables and study tips. After this time, these resources will be available on Compass.

Important points to note:

  • Students enrolled in VCE (Year 11) or the academic pathway (Year 10) are not required on site at times when they do not have an exam. Parents wishing to send students to school for private study during this time will need to provide consent using the Compass Event, which will be sent out two weeks prior to the exams.
  • Year 10 Vocational Major and VCE-VM classes will run as normal during the examination period.
  • Students are required to be in full school uniform for exams.
  • Students will need to have their stationary in a plastic pocket and use a clear plastic water bottle during exams.

Teachers are providing students with study resources and checklists along with practice exams. It is important that students begin to prepare for the exams now. We encourage you to engage your child in a discussion about how they will prepare for exams.

Further information will be provided via Compass on Tuesday 30 April.
