Principal's message

Loving God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
we thank You for the mystery of Your love.
You are a God of relationship—
three persons, perfectly united as one.
Help us to learn from Your example
so that we may live in harmony with one another.
Guide us to be people of love like Jesus,
people of trust and creativity like the Spirit,
and people who care for all as You, our Father, does.
Bless the St. Bernard's school community—
our students, families, and staff—
that we may reflect Your love in all we say and do.
May we always welcome others with open hearts,
work together in kindness,
and share Your love with the world.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
The Trinity is a mystery, it is hard to understand, but at the centre of our faith is a God who loves us, a God who shows mercy. As we live our faith here at school, we are able to demonstrate love for one another, forgiveness and including and caring for others.
Over the next two weeks our school community has the opportunity to live out our faith in a very real way. On June 12th we will gather at 9.30 in our school hall to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred heart of Jesus by participating in Mass. We will be presenting at the offertory the blankets collected for the St. Vinnies Winter Appeal. Every year St. Vinnies launches their winter appeal and every year St. Bernard's responds with merciful generosity by donating blankets to keep those experiencing hardship in Wangaratta warm.
Last year we sent out a challenge, for each class to work towards collecting donations of money in order to buy a blanket. Our aim was for every class to present a blanket.
The generosity of our community was overwhelming, not only did every class present a blanket, but many families also sent in their own donations of blankets as well. The actions of our community reflected the love of the Feast of the Sacred Heart.
We have two weeks so let's all start collecting and aim to present St. Vinnies with even more blankets than we did last year.
Confirmation
The preparation for those children preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation begins this week. The children took their note with the information regarding Confirmation and Eucharist home last Friday. If you did not receive your note, please ask your child to collect another one from me.

This Friday we have a diocesan wide pupil free day. Our staff will be working on site at school completing the agenda provided by Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL).
