Grade 1 News

Welcome to Week 7!
It was wonderful to see all of our students participate so enthusiastically in the Fun Run last Friday! It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the running and lunch afterward. Thank you for your support in making it such a successful event.
Next week, we begin our new Religion unit, Grief and Loss. This unit explores the idea that change is part of creation. Seasons change, animals grow and change, people grow and change — change is a natural part of life. We will be sending home a short letter to explain this unit further, and we encourage families to take the time to read through it.
In Literacy, students have been exploring plurals and learning new digraphs such as /ar/. In Maths, students have been working on addition and subtraction strategies.
Over the past few weeks, our Grade 1 classes have all enjoyed taking part in Chook Duty. This has been a wonderful opportunity for students to explore another area of the school and develop responsibility and teamwork skills.
A reminder that Friday 5th June is a Pupil Free Day.
Please Note: Jewellery and toys are not permitted at school, please ensure these items stay safely at home.
Thank you for your ongoing support and we hope you have a lovely week ahead!
