🏐 Year 7 Girls Volleyball Success!

On 23 April, the LHS Year 7 girls’ volleyball squad competed at the Yarra Division Volleyball Tournament.

Both teams showed amazing sportsmanship, teamwork, and support for one another throughout the day. The girls demonstrated significant improvement throughout the day, with one team finishing 3rd in their pool and the other finishing top of their pool.

LHS went on to take out the championship, winning the grand final 47–35 against Monbulk Secondary College.

🏸 Fantastic Determination & Teamwork on Display

Our Year 8 badminton teams represented the school with fantastic determination and sportsmanship throughout the day on May 6.

The girls played with incredible grit, narrowly losing on points in several closely fought matches. Their teamwork and encouragement of one another were outstanding from start to finish.

Our other team, despite being made up mainly of girls stepping in to help, earned third place.

A special mention must also go to all students who helped the day run smoothly by assisting with scoring.

We are incredibly proud of the positive attitude shown by all students involved, who represented the school exceptionally well both on and off the court.

🏸 Smashes, Skill & School Spirit at Year 8 Badminton!

On Wednesday 6 May, 10 Lilydale High School students attended the Year 8 Badminton competition at Kilsyth Sports Centre. There was a girls’ team and a mixed round-robin team, and everyone really enjoyed the day!

In between games, we practised, had fun, and tried our best. The girls’ team had a chance to progress to the next round, with many close games throughout the day. They finished tied for first place but sadly came second on points.

The day was a great opportunity to improve our skills, and we encourage others to give it a go next year!

🏸Badminton Success!

Students have had a fantastic term representing LHS in badminton.

Our Year 7 students had their first experience of interschool badminton on26 May, enjoying a cracking day filled with great matches, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.

Last week, our Intermediate teams competed at Kilsyth Basketball Stadium. Both our girls' and boys' teams performed exceptionally well, making it through to the finals. The LHS1 Girls team narrowly missed out on progressing to the next stage, while the LHS Boys team won their division in a terrific achievement.

LHS Boys will now represent the school at the upcoming EMR Zone Badminton competition.

Congratulations and well done, everyone!
