Our Learning - Weeks 6 & 7

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL):

-To list the different ways that clothes protect the body and identify clothes that are used to cover the more private parts of the body.

-To practise ways to tell people when they do not like the way their body is being touched or treated by others and practise ways to seek safety when in the presence of violence or inappropriate forms of personal contact.

-To practise ways to seek help from an adult if someone is hurting them or touching them in a way that is not okay.

English:

-Revise heart words and speed sounds with the use of our Chitter Chatter Chant cards.

To recognise the /sh/ sound, consisting of consonant digraph ‘sh’ and identify words that are spelt with the consonant digraph 'sh'.

-To recognise the /ch/ sound, consisting of consonant digraph ‘ch’ and identify words that are spelt with the consonant digraph 'ch'.

-Continue to explore non-fiction texts and their features.

-Explore information reports about Australian animals and practise labelling drawings of Australian animals.

-Our oral language focus is on alliteration (the same letter or sound at the beginning of a group of words) and looking at images to promote the use of language and discussion.

Maths:

-To practise forming digits correctly.

-To go through Maths Daily Review to revisit and consolidate learning.

-To figure out one less of a starting number.

Inquiry:

-To learn facts about Australian birds and label an emu.

-Learn about the Moonlit Sanctuary before we visit it.

-To use iPads to find out information about Australian Native Animals.
