WPS Community Children’s Garden

The last three weeks we’ve been working with berries. Raspberries, cultivated blackberries and native raspberries all fruit in summer so there are none to eat now, but winter is the ideal time to prune, transplant and pot them up, to give a bumper crop in summer. Working as a teams we were able to discover and pull out super long berry canes, and figure out how to remove berries that had sprung up jammed in tricky locations.

Any runaway and self-sown berry plants have been put into pots. These will be available for purchase at the Carlsruhe Fair in November.
