STUDENT EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES REPORT

School Sport Victoria State Championships Representatives 

A massive congratulations to two of our SMMC students Mia and Sadie who recently were in Melbourne to compete in the SSV State Championships. 

Mia’s team won gold in the 14 and Under Girls AFL, whist Sadie’s team won Silver in the 16 and Under Girls Basketball. 

We are proud as a school to have these two representing us at such a high level. 

Loddon Mallee Region AFL Championships 

Our Junior and Intermediate Boys competed in the LMR AFL Championships last week both being held locally in Swan Hill. 

Our Junior Boys competed first on Monday 27th July and were unlucky on the day losing two matches by 1 point and one match by a goal to finish in 4th position.

Our Intermediate Boys had a great day on Wednesday 29th July finishing in second position with two wins, a draw and a one point loss. 

Better players -  

Junior Boys – Hamish, Lucas, Noah, Tyler & Ryder 

Intermediate Boys – Noah, Clem, Archie, Lenny and Thomas 

Year 7 & 8 Badminton Knockout Competition 

Over the course of Week 2 – we ran a Badminton Knockout Competition for our Year 7&8’s at lunchtime with over 15 teams registering. 

Our winners were Alex and Ryan in the Boys Division and Ebony and Bella in the Girls Division. 

Crossbar Challenge 

Last Friday at lunchtime we ran a Crossbar Challenge with House Points on the line for the winning competitor. Students had three attempts to hit the crossbar with anyone hitting, moving onto a sudden death final where the first person to hit the crossbar won House Points for their house. 

Results were - 

• Thomas – 1st (Xavier) 
• Brayden– 2nd (Woods) 
• Julian –  3rd (Tenison) 
• Aarav – 4th (Xavier) 

Staff vs Students Series 

The Staff vs Students has wrapped up with the staff winning the final basketball match to take out the Staff vs Students Series 3-2.
