Chairperson's Report

It has been another busy and successful year for the Parent’s Association. Thanks to our parent volunteers, we were able to run a range of great events for the children and families at St John’s.

The Prep welcome morning tea, Prep family pizza night, Grandparent’s Day morning tea, Easter Raffle, Mother’s Day Stall and Breakfast, Father’s Day Breakfast, Mango Drive and our Special Food Days were fantastic – thank you to everyone who was involved in coordinating and running these events.

A special shout-out to Nick and Joelle McKay for their incredible efforts in coordinating our major fundraiser Games Night, which was a huge success. Lakitha will provide more details around our fundraising efforts in his Treasurer’s Report.

I’ve just finalised the orders for our Tea Towel Fundraiser, which should return a profit of around $720. Remaining events for the PA for the year are the end-of-year BBQ at Halliday Park on Monday, 15 December. The Mangoes will arrive soon and the lovely school tea towels also, just in time for Christmas.

Looking ahead to 2026, I spoke at the Prep parent information night and had a few keen parents chat to me afterwards about potentially joining the PA, which is great. Hopefully we will see some new faces on the committee next year.

I will be stepping down as Chair at the end of 2025 due to work commitments but will still be serving on the PA and am happy to take on the role of coordinator of special food days next year.

Thanks again to everyone who has attended our meetings and assisted throughout the year – these events would not be possible without your support. Special thanks to Lakitha for taking on the role of Treasurer and Jess for all her hard work as Secretary. 

I look forward to working with you all again in 2026.
