Performing Arts at St John's

Whitehorse One Voice Project
At assembly on Monday, 8 December, some of our Senior Choir students will be presented with a certificate from our Mayor, Kirsten Langford, for their participation in the One Voice Intergenerational Choir Project. Come along to see them perform John Farnham’s You’re the Voice alongside the video presentation of the project, where choirs from all over our community joined together in song.
Christmas Carols and Nativity Play
Our annual school Christmas Carols will be held this Thursday, 4 December at 6:00pm in the school hall. The Preps will perform the Nativity Play with all other classes accompanying their performance, singing traditional songs, and dancing to some modern favourites!
Students will be sitting with their classes for the duration of the concert and are invited to wear festive outfits, colours and accessories for the event. Please ensure you arrive by 5.50pm so that we can begin on time. There will be chairs set up for families, alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own chairs and rugs to sit on.
We look forward to celebrating this special community event with you, as together we bring the joy and spirit of Christmas to life!
Australian Children’s Music Foundation - Songwriting Competition
In term 3, students in Years 3-6 worked hard to write, rehearse and perform their own songs to submit to the Australian Children's Music Foundation songwriting competition. While none of our students placed in the competition, they were so impressed by the level of creativity and participation that they produced a special award certificate for our school. Students should be so proud of their efforts!
Warm Regards,
Amanda Hill - Performing Arts Teacher
