Level 2 - Lifelines
A lifeline has been extended to Year 8 students who are currently on Level 2 but received one or more ‘C’ result for effort and behaviour on their interim reports. To remain on Level 2, students must check-in with Ms Masters and complete Feedback Week sheets as a part of the lifeline process. These sheets were filled in by Ms Masters for every student who was extended a lifeline, with the subjects requiring specific feedback highlighted.
Year 8 Camp Fundraising
A Winter Pie Drive is underway to raise funds for the Year 8 Camp to Tangalooma at the end of the year. A selection of family size sweet and savoury pies baked by Coff & Co Bakery are available to order. Pie drive information and order forms were distributed to students on Wednesday. If any students missed out on receiving an order form, they can see Ms Masters in B block staffroom to collect one.
Completed order forms must be returned to Ms Masters by Thursday 26th June. Delivery is scheduled for Thursday 17th July (Week 1, Term 3), with orders being sorted and grouped according to the name on the order sheet. The time and collection point will be communicated at the start of Term 3.
Thank you to Year 7-12 students and families who have volunteered their time this year to help raise funds for the camp. Students have sold ice cups and baked goods at the TSHS Cross Country and the Somerset Cup. A group of students helped with packing and cleaning up at the Mears Pavilion in Toogoolawah after the Legends of Beef event last Term for a $500 donation from the organisers. Thank you to the Year 9 and 12 students and P&C representatives who volunteered their time for the Esk Grand Hotel raffle on May 31st which raised over $400 for the camp. For the Student Council’s Feel-Good Friday initiative, Year 8 students are preparing and selling chocolate milkshakes at first break.
Attendance Rewards Cheeseburger Lunch
Students with Term 2 attendance at 95 percent or above are invited to grab a cheeseburger and soft drink at the attendance reward lunch on Monday 23rd June. Attendance lists will be posted on Daymap on Thursday 19th June. Lists will also be available to view in Mr Nielsen’s office window at B block. It is recommended that students check the list for their name and remember to line up for a burger on the day.
Level 1 & 2 Rewards Trip
It was wonderful to see so many of our Level 1 & 2 students having a fantastic time shopping on the recent trip to Grand Central in Toowoomba. Planning for the next rewards trip in Term 3 is currently underway. Shopping trips are always popular, and we are looking at a longer day out at Westfield Indooroopilly. This will give students the opportunity to shop, go to Timezone if they choose, or to see a movie.
