Year 3 - Middle Unit

It has certainly been a busy and exciting couple of weeks for the Year 3 students. They have done a fantastic job balancing their classroom learning with the excitement of participating in the Aqua Aware Program.

Our week at the Kyneton Aquatic Centre saw students developing a range of swimming skills and learning important water safety and rescue techniques. The program concluded with several fun activities, including boogie boarding in the pool, which was a highlight for many students. A huge thank you to our parent helpers who attended throughout the week. We greatly appreciate you giving up your time to support this valuable learning experience.

During Inquiry, students have been applying their understanding of forces to design a marble run. Starting next week, they will begin bringing their ideas to life by constructing their marble runs in teams of three. If you have any spare cardboard or other materials that may be useful for construction, we would greatly appreciate them being sent to school with your child on Monday.

Once construction is complete, students will enter the testing phase of the design process. They will evaluate their marble runs and make small (or sometimes large) modifications to improve their designs, to slow the momentum of a marble as it travels through the course. We are looking forward to seeing the creativity, problem-solving and teamwork on display as students continue this exciting project.

Thank you to those parents and carers who have booked a time to meet with their child's teacher for the Mid-Year Parent-Teacher Interviews. If you have not yet done so, bookings can still be made via Compass. Please speak with your child's classroom teacher or phone the office, if you are experiencing any difficulties booking a time.
