Literacy

Our Year 4 students have been inspired by the wonderful work of author and illustrator Jeannie Baker. In Literacy, we are exploring The Hidden Forest, an engaging story that follows Ben and Sophie as they discover the magic and beauty of a hidden underwater world.

As we read, students are investigating the rich language used throughout the text, identifying vivid nouns, powerful verbs, and descriptive adjectives that help bring the story to life. It has been fantastic to see students developing their understanding of how authors use language to create imagery, build excitement, and engage readers in meaningful storytelling.

Mathematics

In Mathematics, our students have been developing their understanding of perimeter through a hands-on, real-world project. Students applied their measurement skills to design a vegetable garden for Carlsruhe, carefully calculating and comparing perimeters to create practical and efficient garden layouts.

Swimming Program

This week, our students took part in swimming lessons at the Kyneton Sports and Aquatic Centre. Throughout the program, students developed their swimming skills while also learning valuable water safety knowledge, including pool safety, recognising rips and tides, and understanding potential hazards in ocean environments.

A sincere thank you to the parents who generously volunteered their time and supported students throughout the week. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the instructors at Kyneton Sports and Aquatic Centre for delivering such an engaging and informative program.
