Ready, Set, Learn! Foundation Term 2!

LITERACY!

Welcome back to Term 2! Our Foundation students have settled in beautifully and have been revising all previously learned sounds through our explicit phonics program. During our daily literacy review, students are strengthening their skills by reading and writing with these sounds, building confidence and fluency. It’s been wonderful to see their growing independence and enthusiasm as they apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.

KNOWLEDGE RICH UNIT!

In our Healthy Eating unit this term, Foundation students are learning about the difference between healthy foods and activities and those that are “sometimes” choices. Through a range of hands-on activities, they are exploring how to make balanced decisions to support their wellbeing. Students are also using digital technology to sort, create, and share their learning, making the experience both engaging and interactive.

NUMERACY!

In Maths, Foundation students have been exploring the different ways to partition the number 5. Through hands-on materials, games, and visual models, they are learning how 5 can be broken into smaller parts (such as 3 and 2, or 4 and 1). This helps build a strong understanding of number relationships and supports their early addition skills.
