Students have loved exploring artists in our Aboriginal textile unit. We focused on the mother and daughter duo, Miimi and Jiinda. They create artworks that inform their textile designs, clothing and bedlinen.  (More info below)

Students completed their paintings inspired by the colours and designs of Miimi and Jiinda’s artworks. Students in the upper grades used little squeezy bottles to make dot and dash markings to great success. Students worked with a reduced colour palette focusing on either warm or cool colours.  

The photos give you a glimpse of what the kids have been creating. 

We are now preparing for the Arts festival in term four. Note the date has changed due to building works that are taking place. 

The new festival date is Saturday 17th October.
