The PrimeSCI! Team is excited to welcome students from Year 9 - 12 to the Australian Synchrotron! Learn how the Australian Synchrotron combines science and technology to produce cutting edge research. Includes a hands-on lab session plus a tour of the facility. Swinburne Innovation in Action School Holiday Program – Thursday 17 April
Do you have a strong passion for solving problems and coming up with new ideas? Do you like to think outside the box and be creative? Do you want a challenge? The Swinburne Innovation in Action school holiday program is a 1-day program based at Swinburne Uni’s Hawthorn campus where Year 10 - 12 students are given the knowledge and tools they need to come up with brilliant new ideas to solve real-world problems. In this free program, students will:
- Visit the Hawthorn Campus of Swinburne University of Technology and identify a problem they would like to solve, framed by the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Work together with peers to build a prototype solution for the chosen problem
- Level up their learning through hands-on, interactive workshops that focus on teamwork, design thinking, problem solving and communication

World Surf League X Bond University Exclusive Backstage Tours – Bells Beach, 19/20 and 26/27 April
Thanks to Bond University, Year 11 and 12 students along with their parents can see the inner workings of upcoming World Surf League international surfing competitions and ride the wave of career opportunities in an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. During a backstage tour, students will explore the athlete spaces, judging area, media and broadcast area and operations control room, then enjoy watching surfing royalty battle it out.
This experience offers front-row seats to a full lineup of careers from sport management to marketing, events, exercise and sports science, business, journalism, film and television and project management. A Bond University representative will be on site to answer any questions you have about Bond. The Backstage Tour times are:
- Saturday, 19 April: 11am and 1pm
- Sunday, 20 April: 11am and 1pm
- Saturday 26 April: 11am and 1pm
- Sunday 27 April: 11am and 1pm

Football (AFL) Umpiring Opportunities open for Term 2, 2025
Melbourne Sports Institute is recruiting Football (AFL) Umpires for the Girls Sport Victoria Inter-School Sport Competition in Term 2, 2025. The football fixtures take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at various locations, including Canterbury, Balwyn, Kew, Box Hill, Ivanhoe, Glen Iris, South Yarra, Mentone, Heidelberg, Burwood, Toorak, Camberwell, Brighton, and Mount Eliza.
The season runs from April 29th to June 12th, with staff paid fortnightly and the flexibility to choose their preferred fixtures. Since umpiring is considered non-taxable income, this is a great opportunity for individuals to gain valuable experience while getting paid. Interested senior students can learn more by clicking here.
