Venus Halfshell-Battle of the Bands

On Saturday 21st March, Fuse and Golden Plains Shire hosted a Battle of the Bands at Turtle Bend Reserve in Teesdale. Four bands competed for the winning title including our very own Venus Halfshell - Seth Finnigan, James Price, Ben Bell and Amy Kalisperis pictured above. 

It was a lovely day with great weather and amazing support from family and friends for all performers and bands. Although Venus Halfshell didn’t walk away with the win, they did put on an amazing performance, gained some great experience with live performing and got to play alongside some talented university students, giving them a glimpse into possible future pathways for the band members.

Venus Halfshell had a lot of support on the day having the largest supporting crew of family and friends of any of the bands.  It provided them with the opportunity to share their original tunes with a community outside their usual Ballarat High School audience.

I am so proud of them and fortunate that I saw them put on an amazing show. Can’t wait for the next show these students have coming up!
