SSV Eureka Senior Volleyball
On Monday 20th March BHS entered 2 volleyball teams (Senior Boys, Senior Girls) into the SSV Eureka Senior Volleyball competition at Daylesford College. We always appreciate Daylesford College hosting the SSV Eureka Volleyball competitions in conjunction with the Daylesford Volleyball Association.
The Senior Girls found themselves in a 5 team round robin competition. The BHS team played Daylesford College (0 sets-7 points v 2-42), Phoenix Secondary College (2-42 v 0-21), Mount Clear College (0-25 v 2-42) and Woodmans Hill Secondary (0-12 v 2-42). With only one win on the board the team finished in 4th place but the students had a great time representing the school in their last volleyball tournament.
The Senior Boys found themselves in a much different situation with an 8 team Pool Play competition. The team drew Pool A alongside Phoenix Secondary College B (2-42 v 0-21), Phoenix Secondary College A (2-42 v 0-31) and Mount Clear College (2-55 v 1-45). Beaufort Secondary College A, Beaufort Secondary College B, Mount Rowan Secondary College & Woodmans Hill Secondary College made up Pool B.
3 wins from 3 matches secured the team a place in the Semi Final against Beaufort Secondary College A. The team made quick work of this match winning 2-42 v 0-26 to book a place in the Grand Final and a rematch against Mount Clear College. The first match was a close affair so the team was expecting a tough match. BHS put in much better showing to commandingly win the match 2-42 v 0-25. The Senior Boys team were crowned Eureka Champions for 2026.
The Senior Boys team will now progress to the SSV Greater Western Region Senior Volleyball competition on Tuesday 31st March.
