SMR Athletics

On Thursday 5th October, 21 students represented Glen Eira College at Southern Metropolitan Athletics. In addition to achieving some excellent results, in which our team placed 10th out of 59 competing schools, all students demonstrated excellent leadership and sportsmanship throughout the afternoon.

 

The following students made it through to the state finals:

  • Seif El Shorbagy: javelin, discus and shot put
  • Cooper Acklom: javelin, 100 m, discus and 200 m
  • Laura Wong: hurdles, 100 m and 200 m 
  • Angus Murrie: 800 m multiclass
  • Samantha Fardell: triple jump
  • Mia Euvrard, Monako Bernabe, Gaby Duieb and Laura Wong: 4 x 100 m relay

State Athletics Finals

On Monday 16th October we had students compete in the athletics state finals. Of the 256 schools competing at the State Track & Field Championships, GEC finished 10th, a fantastic achievement!

Congratulations Reuben

Reuben competed in the Youth National Target Archery on the weekend. It was a two-day event and he finished 3rd in Australia! Reuben is ranked in the top of all 3 types of archery (indoor, targeted and field).
