SRC Captain’s Farewell Letter
As I look back on the year and reflect on everything that the Student Representative Council has achieved, I’m both in awe and admiration at the strength of a team united by a motivating and empowering mindset: to both improve and give back to the student body.
With the help and guidance of Ms Fisher, in 2023 alone, the SRC has introduced more Indigenous learning tools into classes for Reconciliation Week, collaborated to get students motivated and moving during Education Week and collectively raised $500 for state schools’ relief during Harmony Day.
As SRC President, I couldn’t be more proud of the hard work of each and every member of our council. I’m so glad to have met and worked with each and every one of my peers, and I’m sure that all of them will grow to do great things. Being part of the SRC at Glen Eira College ever since year 10 has improved my public speaking and networking skills as well as my appreciation of the events held for students, by students. Working behind the scenes, making posters and organising events has been exciting and enriching, and I’ve learned so much with the help of my teachers and peers.
I highly recommend joining the SRC to share your ideas and learn more about what you can achieve when you really push yourself. Thank you for such a great year, everyone!
