Prep News

Wow time flies- we are already almost half term through term 2! The students have been extremely busy with making Mother’s Day crafts, connecting with their Year 5 buddies and learning to write independently.

Here is a snapshot of the past two weeks.

💐 Mother's Day

We hope all the mothers, grandmothers and special women and carers were completely spoiled for Mother's Day. On behalf of the children, thank you for all that you do!

📚 Literacy

We continued to learn about nouns (things that you can see and touch), verbs (action words) and adjectives (describing words) over the past few weeks. We have also been focusing on writing words and simple sentences independently.

🔤 Phonics

We have learnt three new Stage 2 sounds: /d/, /g/ and /o/ and have met Daisy Dog, Gabby Goat and Oscar Octopus.

It has been great to see that so much reading has been happening at home. Please continue to read regularly with your child and record this in your child’s take home journal.

🔢 Mathematics

In Maths, we continued to learn how to break numbers into parts, for example 10 can be broken into 3 and 7. The students have been practising how to make different pairs of numbers independently.
