The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC) is underway, and it’s fantastic to see so many books already being logged. The enthusiasm has been incredible, and the student reviews have been a highlight. Keep them coming!

Happy reading and remember, your books can come from our school library, your local library, or even your collection at home!

NATIONAL SIMULTANEOUS STORYTIME (NSS)

We’re looking forward to celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime in May with this year’s featured book, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller. This special event brings students across the country together to share the joy of reading at the same time.

Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller is the story of a rookie captain Luna Roo leaves nothing on the pitch as she leads FC Outback in a thrilling face-off against Bush United. Faced with a spider goalkeeper, snakes in attack and bubbling nerves, Luna must trust her skills and her teammates to soar to victory.

Written by football veterans Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, Luna Roo captures all the intense excitement of the game, along with a heart-warming message that courage and determination are a winning combination.

GREAT BOOK SWAP

The Great Book Swap is coming up in June! This will be a great opportunity for students to share books, discover new books, and celebrate Indigenous voices. More details will be shared soon so stay tuned.

SCHOLASTIC FAMILY READING MONTH

If you would like a fun activity to bring reading into your home check out the Scholastic Family Reading Month.  We’re excited to encourage families to make reading a daily habit at home. Even just a few minutes each day can make a big difference in building strong reading skills and a lifelong love of books.

Go to www.scholastic.com.au  or search Scholastic Family Reading Month on Facebook for more details.

LUNCH CLUB OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS

Lunch Club continues to run and is open to all students. It’s been wonderful to see so many of our Foundation students getting involved and enjoying the space. We want to remind older students that this is absolutely for them too, there’s a place for everyone! We are working on ways to make access fair, so all students feel welcome and included.
