Ashlee Jacobson - Attends 31st National Schools Constitutional Convention

We are incredibly proud to share that our Year 12 Legal Studies student, Ashlee Jacobson, was selected to attend the 31st National Schools Constitutional Convention (NSCC) in Canberra this week.

Ashlee is one of only 113 students from across Australia chosen to take part in this prestigious national program, which brings together young people to explore and debate key issues surrounding Australia’s Constitution. This year’s focus asks an important question: Should Section 53 of the Constitution be amended to prevent the Senate from blocking supply (rejecting money bills)?

During the Convention, Ashlee engaged with expert speakers, participated in debates, and contribute to a mock referendum, while also experiencing visits to Parliament House, Government House, and the National Press Club.

Being selected as a national delegate is an outstanding achievement, and we commend Ashlee on her dedication, passion for Legal Studies, and commitment to civic engagement. Congratulations, Ashlee!
