Celebrating Reading and Storytelling in May

May is shaping up to be a wonderful month of literacy‑rich experiences at Lakeside, with several exciting events designed to inspire a love of reading across our College community.

Our Read More in May initiative invites students and families to build daily reading habits throughout the month. You can explore the full calendar of ideas and activities below:

From 22–26 May, we will also be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair in the Middle Primary Chapel space each afternoon at 3pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to discover new books and support our school library as funds raised will go back into the shcool.

On 27 May, our students will take part in National Simultaneous Storytime, joining thousands of children across Australia as we read Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller. More information about this nationwide event is available through ALIA, and you can learn about the book through the publisher’s website. 

May promises to be a vibrant celebration of reading and we look forward to sharing these experiences with our students!
