From the Principal

As we warmly welcome our students and families back for the new school term, we do so in the spirit of renewal and reflection that accompanies the Easter season.
This sacred time in the Christian calendar invites us to pause and consider themes of hope, sacrifice, and new life. Values that resonate deeply within our school community. May this period inspire us all to approach the term ahead with compassion, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to learning and to one another.
Once again, Term 2 promises to be an exciting one for Lakeside College. We have several events such as our Athletics Carnival and Twenty Year Celebration Day that are sure to bring out our college spirit and competitive drive.
For our Year 7 to Year 11 students, we have our mid-year examinations on the horizon, and I encourage parents/guardians to commence conversations with their child about the importance of preparing for exams well in advance and of taking advantage of our Maths and English assist classes running outside of class time. I especially encourage our Year 10 to Year 12 students to take advantage of our English Tutor, Ms Madi Worker, who is available to provide one to one and small group support to students after school until 4.40pm Monday to Thursday.
Reflection
Loving God,
As we journey together through this Easter season, we are reminded of the words of Scripture: “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said” (Matthew 28:6). In these simple yet profound words, we find the very heart of our Christian faith hope renewed, life restored, and God’s promises fulfilled.
For us as a community, parents, teachers and students at Lakeside College, this message speaks deeply into our daily lives. Amid the busyness of family, work, and school commitments, Easter calls us to refocus on what truly endures. It reassures us that even in moments of uncertainty or challenge, God is at work, bringing new life and purpose.
In the Lutheran tradition, we hold firmly to the grace of God, freely given, not earned. As St Paul reminds us, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8). This grace shapes how we nurture our children, how we support one another, and how we live as a community grounded in faith.
May this season encourage each of us to walk closely with Christ, trusting in His promises and modelling His love in our homes. And may Lakeside College continue to be a place where faith is lived, hope is shared, and every child is reminded that they are deeply known and loved by God.
In Christ,
Robert Tassoni
