CONFIRMATION 2026

We keep in our prayers the students who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation later this month. Over recent weeks, students have been learning more about the Sacrament of Confirmation, researching their chosen saint, and exploring the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and how these gifts can guide them in their daily lives as followers of Jesus. 

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Saturday, 20 September at St Helena of the Holy Cross Church, with ceremonies taking place at 11.30am and 3.00pm. 

As part of their preparation, all candidates and their parents are asked to attend a Parent-Child Workshop at the St Helena of the Holy Cross Parish Centre. Families may attend either Tuesday, 9 September or Wednesday, 10 September, with sessions at 4.00pm or 5.30pm on both evenings. 

This special time of preparation is an important step in our students' faith journey, and we thank families for their support and commitment as they prepare their children to receive this sacrament. 

We ask our community members to pray for those students who will be receiving their Confirmation. 

Come, Holy Spirit, 

Fill the hearts of our Confirmation candidates with Your love and wisdom. Guide them as they prepare to receive the gifts of Your Spirit. Help them to grow in faith, courage, kindness, and understanding. May they follow the example of their chosen saints and become faithful witnesses to Jesus in their homes, school, parish, and community. 

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
