Dear Parents and Caregivers
Celebrating all that is St Helena's
It has been a huge couple of weeks at St Helena's with the Book Week celebrations, Science week activities, the successful and well-attended Book Fair and the Father's Day Breakfast and Liturgy last Friday. Our Learning Journey, Art Exhibition and ExACT Expo yesterday evening was amazing, and it was great to see so many students and their family members in attendance, going around the school and checking out all the student's work, showcasing their creativity and joy in learning. It was wonderful to have our Choir and Liturgical Dancers perform in front of our school community too. Thank you Ms Lock and Miss O'Callaghan for coordinating these performances.
Our Art Exhibition was spectacular. Thank you Mrs Ireri for your teaching of the Visual Arts at St Helena's and the amazing work you have the students produce. We have some very talented artists! Thank you also to the work you do Mrs O'Meara in the ExACT space with our students. There were some very creative passion projects on display at the ExACT Expo yesterday evening. Thank you to all the staff that assisted Mrs Ireri in putting the art exhibition together and to all those who assisted in the Book Fair over the last week, with Mrs Rocca. A huge thank you to all our wonderful staff at St Helena's Catholic Primary School for your time and contribution to these events, and to all our families for coming along!
Home School Partnerships
Thank you to all our parents and caregivers for your support in ensuring that you have kept up with communications, supporting your child/ren and the SHCPS staff as we work together to support your child/ren's learning journey. In promoting our home/school partnership even further, please do not hesitate to make contact with your child/ren's classroom teacher to make an appointment to discuss how your child/ren is/are progressing. Thanks for getting back to teachers when they reach out as well!
Prayers for our Confirmation Candidates
Keep in our prayers all the students at St Helena's and in our Parish who will be confirmed on Sunday 20 September at either the 11:30am or 3:00pm Mass. As our Confirmation candidates continue to prepare to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we pray that the Holy Spirit will guide them as they continue their journey with Christ and live out the Gospel in their daily lives.
Performing Arts Recognition
Congratulations to our Choir and Liturgical Dancers on your amazing achievements and receiving a Merit Certificate at the recent Performing Arts Festival earlier this term. We are very proud of you all!
Jumps & Throws Day and Athletics Carnival
Looking forward to next week's Jumps and Throws Day on Tuesday and our Athletics Carnival on Friday for our Pre-Primary to Year 6 students. Kindy have a Sport Carnival planned for Thursday at 1:30pm. The students, staff and Mr McCormack are all ready to go! Thank you to the parents and caregivers who have already volunteered. It isn't to late to get involved and fill in the form sent home yesterday.
