Junior Hooptime Regional Finals

Our Grade 3 Future Stars team competed bravely at Region Finals on Wednesday 29th October at the State Basketball Centre. They may not have got a win on the board, but they competed strongly and most importantly, had fun playing the sport they love!

A special thank you to Stew Gleadow, who gave up his time to coach the boys for the day.

Thank you, Stew!

Grade 5/6 Cricket Gala Day at Yarra Valley College

Last week, our Grade 5/6 students represented Kalinda Primary School at the Cricket Gala Day held at Yarra Valley College.

It was a full day of cricket, with our teams playing four, one hour matches against Donvale Christian College, Yarra Valley College, Mullum Primary School and Tinternvale Primary School.

Despite the constant rain throughout the day, our staff and students showed outstanding resilience and sportsmanship. Not once did they complain - instead, they dealt with the conditions and gave every game their best effort.

It was fantastic to see their cricket skills and game sense grow and improve with each match.

A huge thank you to all our amazing volunteers who generously gave their time to coach and manage the Kalinda teams, and to the teaching staff who supported and supervised on the day.

Your commitment and enthusiasm make days like these possible, and we truly appreciate it.

Grade 6 Boys Interschool Sport Basketball Regional Finals

Last week, our Grade 6 Boys Interschool Sport Basketball team competed in the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Finals. As expected, the competition grew tougher at this level, but the boys rose to the challenge and put in an impressive performance, finishing 5th overall with 3 wins and 2 losses.

Throughout the day, the team demonstrated great skill, determination and sportsmanship, working exceptionally well together. We are very proud of their achievements.

A big thank you to Joel for coaching the team and to all the parents for their ongoing support.

Last Friday, the Boys Allstar Hooptime Basketball team went through the pool games and final undefeated. The boys showed great sportsmanship and positively represented our school. Although scores were even in our final, we managed to pull away in the second half.

They will now participate in the State finals of Hooptime on Tuesday, 2nd December at the State Basketball Centre in Knox.

Thanks to all the parents who drove children, scored and supported the team on the day.
