'The Arts' Update

Arts Week Reminder - Arts Week is coming up in Week 9 and 10 for further information please read the Arts Week at BSC page of this newsletter.

StringFest

On Wednesday, the 21st of May, we were lucky enough to host this year's StringFest. Many students from other schools such as Sandringham, McKinnon and Mentone Girls' Secondary, from all year levels, gathered in the gym to play a variety of orchestral pieces. It was an amazing experience because playing with others is a different feeling entirely than playing by yourself or in a small group. There are only seven string players in the school, so it was exciting to play with many others. Throughout the day, we followed the conductor to piece together the music bit by bit to perform the entire piece the best we could. It was great to get to know students from other schools and bond over shared interests. The cello part was the best, along with the double basses.
