YEAR 12 GEOGRAPHY FIELDWORK || Today, our Year 12 Geography students explored local land use changes in Fitzroy, using both manual and digital methods to collect data for their upcoming Fieldwork Report. They conducted soundscape assessments, a pedestrian flow count, a traffic survey, environmental quality surveys, and community interviews while engaging with various sites and the local community.

INTERMEDIATE ROUND ROBIN || Yesterday, our intermediate boys & girls soccer, girls netball, and boys AFL teams had a great day of sport! It was an exciting day hosting the boys AFL matches on our amazing oval! The boys played brilliantly throughout the day and made it all the way to the grand final. While the results didn’t go our way overall, the enthusiasm, participation and representation of BSC were outstanding across all teams!

CELEBRATING EDUCATION SUPPORT PERSONNEL (ESP) DAY! || Today, we thank our incredible Education Support staff (not all pictured!), recognising the vital role they play in our school community. From our Learning Support, Administration, Wellbeing, Maintenance and IT teams to our Lab Technician, Food Tech Assistants and Library Manager, their dedication and hard work are indispensable in supporting our students, teachers, and families. We are so fortunate to have such a fantastic team at Beaumaris!

LUNCHTIME SPORT – LET THE GAMES BEGIN! || Lunchtime sport kicked off today! This term, our Sport Leaders, Lilly R and Hugh W, are leading lunchtime sports for Year 7 and 8 students. Year 7s are up this week, and Year 8s will take the court next week. All students are invited to spectate! The ultimate House dodgeball showdown is coming, with House points on the line!

DIVISIONAL GIRLS FOOTBALL & BOYS NETBALL || A HUGE congratulations to our Junior and Senior Girls AFL teams, who both secured the Division championship titles today! They’re now gearing up for Regionals! Well done to the Inter Girls AFL, Inter Boys Netball teams (2nd place), Junior Boys Netball (semi-finalists), and Senior Boys Netball (3rd place)! Go Beauy!

DOG SQUAD || This morning, we had the pleasure of hosting the Therapy Dogs in Schools Network Meeting! It was a wonderful opportunity to discuss the impact of therapy dogs on student wellbeing, and Bali, our therapy dog, had a great time catching up with his furry friends!

GOAL WELLBEING WALK || Our Year 11 Waratah GOAL students enjoyed a wellbeing walk to the Concourse as part of their GOAL session yesterday. It was a great way tspend some time connecting with their peers and teachers.

BRAIN BALLOONS || Yesterday, our Year 9 & 10 CSI students got hands-on with the brain! They learned about the four lobes and their functions, creating brain balloons to visually explore these concepts.

DESIGN INDUSTRY INSIGHTS || Our VCE Visual Communication Design students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in a forum with Gina Berdux, Practicing Graphic Designer & Interior Architect, today. They heard about what it takes to succeed in the design field, gained valuable insights into how visual language is used in design, and had the chance to receive professional feedback on their current projects and SACs.

BASKETBALL VICTORIA CHALLENGE || Congratulations to our U17 and U20s basketball teams for participating in the Victorian Secondary Schools Challenge! The U20s competed today, while the U17s participated last week. They competed in regional qualifying tournaments for a shot at the finals and our U20 Girls Division 2 team are off to the next round! ‘STRENGTHS’ BRACELETS || This week in our Year 7 wellbeing group, students explored what makes them unique, as well as their gifts and talents. After learning about character strengths, they got creative and made bracelets that symbolize their own predominant strengths—having plenty of fun in the process!

STRINGFEST 2025 || Yesterday, we were thrilled to host StringFest, welcoming talented government school students from across the south-east region of Victoria. This event offered intensive training and valuable networking opportunities with string experts and peers from other schools. Special thanks to Liz Freemantle, Head of Strings at St Margaret's School in Berwick, for guest conducting!

COASTAL DEVELOPMENT FIELDWORK || Today, our Year 9 & 10 Sustainable Development students explored the Mornington Peninsula Beaches as part of their Coastal Change and Management Unit. The data they collected will support their Term 2 PBL projects!

BREWING SUCCESS || Today, our Year 12 Business Management students explored the world of coffee at 23 Degrees Coffee Roasters! They learned about production processes, quality control, sustainability and supply chain management firsthand. BACK TO KINDERGARTEN! || As part of their School Assessed Coursework (SAC), this week our Year 11 VCE English Language students visited Jack and Jill Kindergarten to engage in 'linguistic fieldwork'. Interacting with 3 & 4-year-olds, they asked tailored questions, observed child language development, and made meaningful connections to deepen their understanding of child language acquisition. Lots of laughter and learning!
