Senior Music Dinner
Music has a unique way of bringing people together, fostering friendships, and creating memories that last well beyond the final note. This spirit was on full display at our Secondary Music Dinner on Friday evening, as students, staff and families gathered to celebrate another outstanding year of music-making and the many experiences shared along the way.
This year’s Footloose Formal theme was embraced with enthusiasm, with students arriving in dazzling outfits that added glamour and excitement to the evening. Held at Nudgee Golf Club, the event provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements of our ensembles, acknowledge the dedication of our musicians and recognise the strong sense of community that makes our Music Program so special.
A highlight of the evening was hearing from our outgoing and incoming Music Captains and student leaders, whose speeches reflected on the friendships, achievements and opportunities that have shaped our Music Program. Their words were complemented by the presentation of staff-nominated Encouragement Awards and Most Valuable Ensemble Member Awards, alongside the student-voted Player’s Player and Singer’s Singer awards. Together, these accolades celebrated not only musical excellence, but also the commitment, leadership, teamwork and positive spirit that make our ensembles such vibrant and supportive communities.
The night concluded with a special cake-cutting ceremony in honour of our Year 12 students, acknowledging their contribution to the Music Program and the legacy they leave behind, before a packed dance floor ensured the celebrations continued well into the evening.
Congratulations to all our students and staff for another wonderful year of music, friendship, and connection.
Music at Enrolment Tours
We extend our gratitude to Faure Flutes and the Middle School String Quartet for their contribution of background music during our Enrolment Tours, enhancing the atmosphere as families gather ahead of each event.
Junior Music Celebration Assembly
Tuesday 3 November
We are looking forward to celebrating and recognising the achievements of our Junior musicians at this year's Junior Music Celebration Assembly on Tuesday 3 November.
Best Musician trophies will be awarded to one student from each of the following ensembles: Beginner Band, Campo delle Voci, Corelli Strings, Piccolo Choir, Vivo Strings, and Wind Orchestra. These awards recognise students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their ensemble through consistent attendance, dedicated effort, positive participation and a high standard of musical achievement throughout the year.
We will also present a Most Outstanding Ensemble Member Award to a student who has made an exceptional contribution to the Junior Music Program through their musicianship, leadership, enthusiasm and commitment, while serving as a positive role model for their peers.
All ensemble students in Years 1 to 6 will be presented with a Certificate of Participation in recognition of their enthusiasm, commitment and contribution to the Music Program throughout the year.
Students in Years 4 to 6 are also eligible to receive a Music Excellence Badge (if they have not already been awarded one) in recognition of their ongoing dedication to the Music Program. Eligibility is based on the attendance and behavioural expectations outlined in the Ensemble and Choir Commitment Requirements, which were published on the College App at the beginning of the year. Music Excellence Badges will be presented by ensemble directors at the conclusion of the year.
We are proud of the dedication shown by our young musicians and look forward to recognising their efforts and accomplishments at this special event.
