Lighthouse Update

Countdown to Lighthouse Launch - 1 week to go!

We’re looking forward to introducing Lighthouse to our Clayfield community next week. Bringing learning and communication together in one platform, Lighthouse will help keep families connected and make it easier to stay up to date with life at the College.

To help make the transition as smooth as possible, resources and support sessions are available to help families get comfortable with the new platform.

This support will include:

  • The Collective Newsletter: A regular Lighthouse section will provide key milestones, tips and relevant information.
  • In-person Lighthouse Parent Support Sessions: These are scheduled in Weeks 5 and 6:
  • Tuesday 3 November | Clayfield College Museum | 1:45pm to 2:15pm
    • Friday 6 November | Clayfield College Museum | 7:45am to 8:15am
    • Tuesday 10 November | Clayfield College Museum | 1:30pm to 2:00pm
    • Friday 13 November | Clayfield College Museum | 7:45am to 8:15am
  • Parent Guide: A Lighthouse support page will provide Parent Guides and videos to help families get started.
  • Support Email: A dedicated support email address: lighthouse@clayfield.qld.edu.au has been established so that your enquiries can be followed up by the most appropriate team member.

Last week a number of parents, representing families from Pre-Prep to Year 12 participated in our Lighthouse Parent Pilot. We thank these parents for their participation and willingness to explore the platform. Their feedback is an important part of this process, helping us understand the parent experience and identifying what is working well and opportunities to improve the platform for all Clayfield families.

Introducing Lighthouse in Term 4 gives us the opportunity to learn from the experiences of parents, staff and students. As with any new platform, there will be questions and opportunities to make improvements along the way.

This week’s feature: LEARN

As we continue rolling out the LEARN area within Lighthouse, we want to highlight some key features to help you navigate this section.

Within the Learn area, parents can access information specific to each Sub Schools (Junior School and Senior School), including notices and resources. They can also explore Year Level pages from Pre-Prep to Year 12, featuring course information, unit details and relevant learning resources.

Spotlight on Student Profiles (Accessible via the Parent Dashboard)

  • Goals: Teachers can set specific academic and wellbeing targets tailored to individual students. Whether it is mastering a specific learning outcome in the classroom or building positive personal habits, this feature allows staff and students to track progress collaboratively throughout the year.
  • Achievements: When a student successfully reaches a Goal, an achievement notification will be sent directly to both the student and their parents. It is a fantastic way to celebrate hard work and progress in real time.
  • Grades: We are currently transitioning our grading system from TASS to Lighthouse. In the near future, the Grades tab on student profiles will allow parents to view published grades and teacher feedback directly within the platform.

A Quick Reminder: Class OneNotes

Please note that Class OneNotes are designed as active learning and resource spaces specifically for students, which means direct parent access to these links is restricted. If you would like to view the content inside your child's OneNote, we encourage you to ask them to show you on their device, it is a great opportunity to engage in a conversation about what they are learning.

Parent Lounge

Lighthouse will provide direct access to key Parent Lounge functions to support day-to-day College operations and services used by all families. Please note that Lighthouse will not replace Parent Lounge.

Stay tuned for next week, when we’ll share log in information and invite our entire College community to access Lighthouse.
