We have had a busy 9-week term. Students have been getting their SWL forms completed for the rest of the school year. If you have not yet had your forms extended or new forms signed you are to come to school on your SWL day. Remember you are not covered by the Department if you are working without a current signed form.
If you have not secured a place for Term 4, it might be good to make an appointment with the Careers team to see what we can assist you with by way of a placement for the remainder of this year.
We have a lot going on in the school with the School Based Apprenticeship program as well. Joanne from HeadStart has been working hard with many of our students to get the SBAT forms signed to continue with their school studies whilst also completing their SBAT in their chosen career path.
We currently have 8 students enrolled in various SBAT’s for the remainder of this year and of those 3 are Yr12 students who will have their SBATs transferred to full apprenticeships once their school year is completed. Our other 5 students will continue with their SBAT along with their school studies for the remainder of this year and into 2026.
Our Yr12 students have been busy applying for university courses, TAFE courses and traineeships. We also have a few students who have secured an apprenticeships once their Yr12 studies are complete.
It is a very exciting time in the Careers space at the moment. The Careers and Pathways team will continue to work and meet with the Yr12 students to support their plans for 2025 and beyond.
