Short terms are supposed to be cruisy, apparently! Term 3 has, however, been jam packed for staff and students alike and gone by in the blink of an eye. There has been plenty going on worth noting.
Punctuality Focus
This term we looked at providing a consistent structure to our Homegroup program with the implementation of the Student Bulletin. The bulletin contains important announcements and information for students about the day ahead as well as different challenges each day to engage the students and getting their minds thinking.
Congratulations to the year 10s, who proved to have the best punctuality in homegroup sessions as well as the greatest improvement from Term 2 to Term 3. They will be rewarded with a free class lunch in Term 4.
Goodbye Rachel Vilani
Last week we wished Rachel all the best as she begins her new position with HeadStart. Rachel has been a valued member of staff for many years. She has supported many students to achieve success in completing VET, VCAL and VM studies over the years. Her dedication in providing students with academic, engagement and wellbeing support has been instrumental in ensuring that many of our students achieve success. Rachel’s commitment and contributions to PLSC will be missed. We wish Rachel all the best with her future endeavours.
Community Engagement
This term, all year levels have had multiple opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom with different excursions and/or incursions.
These opportunities have provided engaging experiences for students to apply their learning in real life situations. Well done everyone.
R U OK? Day
On Tuesday 16th September, PLSC celebrated R U OK? Day as a community. The afternoon events brought staff and students together and provided plenty of opportunities to check in with each other and raise awareness about mental health.
The afternoon activities included a delicious BBQ lunch for everyone, plenty of different games and activities in the learning hub and a intra-school soccer match for interested students. The vibe across the school was one of fun and positivity.
Well done to all staff and students that contributed to making this day a huge success.
Term 3 Assembly
We recently held our End of Term Assembly. This event provided the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the positive achievements of students throughout the term. Awards were given out for the following categories:
Well done to all students that received awards this term.
I hope everyone has a safe and relaxing break over the holiday period and I look forward to supporting everyone through Term 4 as we all push to complete the year with successful outcomes.
Take Care,
