Round Square Week

Round Square Week went off with a bang at St Philip's, with students and staff embracing a range of activities that celebrated the Round Square IDEALS and brought energy and enthusiasm across the College.

The week kicked off with a spirited Round Square Kahoot challenge in Tutor Groups, testing students’ knowledge and teamwork. This was followed by our much-anticipated Adventure Film Festival, where students packed into the Fred Shed to enjoy snacks and a series of exciting adventure films created by fellow students. A special congratulations to Year 7 student Elvis du Vanage, whose mountain biking adventure film earned him the coveted Critics’ Choice Prize.

Midweek saw the return of the annual Dance-a-thon, with Year 7 and 8 students joined by an energetic group of Year 12 Round Square committee members in the hall. The enthusiasm was infectious, and the dance moves were certainly impressive!

Round Square Action also made a visible impact, with more than 30 staff and students rolling up their sleeves after school to work on the Discovery Centre garden and tackle buffle grass on the hill behind the school. By the end of the blitz, the difference was clear to see and highlighted the power of service and teamwork in action.

The Blanket and Beanie Campaign was also launched during the week. Families who would still like to contribute can drop donations at Reception, with all items to be delivered to Purple House early next week.

Throughout the week, Tutor Groups were also racing around the College completing the Internationalism Scavenger Hunt, adding another layer of fun and connection to the celebrations.

Round Square Week was another wonderful opportunity for our community to engage with the Round Square IDEALS and celebrate service, adventure, internationalism and teamwork.

A huge thank you to Jen Inglis and all the student committee members whose hard work and enthusiasm helped make the week a success.
