Dear Families and Friends,

This term is flying by in a whirlwind of outdoor adventures and extra-curricular highlights. Here is a snapshot of what our incredible students have been up to—and what is coming up next!

Wild Weather & Wilderness: Year 7 & 8 Camps

Year 8 Adventure: Congratulations to our Year 8s for conquering their expedition around Ellery Big Hole. They braved everything from brisk chilly nights to warm sunny days. The biggest win? Far fewer flies than last year (though the local mosquitoes certainly made their presence known!).

Year 7 Discovery: The Year 7s are out exploring right now. We are keeping our fingers crossed that the rain stays away for the rest of their program. It is a spectacular time of year to be out in nature.

Round Square Week: Action & Impact

Our campus was buzzing with energy last week as the Junior and Senior Round Square committees hosted a fantastic lineup of global and community events:

  • Brainpower & Exploration: Bumping up the competitive spirit with a giant Kahoot and an International Scavenger Hunt.
  • Creativity & Culture: Kicking back at the Adventure Film Festival and bringing the energy at the Junior Dance-a-thon.
  • Giving Back: Getting our hands dirty with Buffel Busting, tree planting, and weeding the Peace Garden.

A massive thank you to our Round Square committees for their incredible enthusiasm and leadership!

Winter Carnival: Something for Everyone

Last Friday’s Winter Carnival was a triumph of skill, sportsmanship, and school spirit. Students hit the courts, fields, and greens to compete in badminton, basketball, frisbee, netball, soccer, AFL 9s, lawn bowls, and even a high-stakes Engineering Challenge!

Staff Shoutout: Huge congratulations to Riley Simpson for seamlessly coordinating eight different events across three venues.

Team Effort: Thank you to all the staff who stepped up to convene, referee and score to make the day run so smoothly.

Mark Your Calendars: The Week Ahead

Next week is shaping up to be just as big. Here is what you need to know:

Monday: Half of our Year 10 cohort heads out into the workforce for their Work Experience week.

Wednesday: We begin our Reconciliation Week commemorations with a deeply meaningful special assembly.

Thursday & Friday: Don't miss the spectacular Senior Play! The performances start at 7:00pm in The Minnamurra Hall. Tickets can be bought online: https://events.humanitix.com/love-and-information-spc or at the door.

Come along and support our talented performers!

Warm regards,
