Week 5/6
During Core Literacy, Grade 5 have been working on their phonetical knowledge to help spell technical words related to their serial read Tom Appleby Convict Boy.
Grade 5 have also been writing diary entries from the point of view of a character from the same text.
As part Maths lessons, Grade 6 have been learning about Decimals. They have partitioned the standard and non-standard way, used the vertical algorithm and applied the inverse operation to add and subtract decimal numbers.
During Applied Literacy, Grade 6 have been publishing their Information Reports, from their drafts, about Poland based on the serial Read 'Once' by Morris Gleitzman.
This week in our new Systemic Knowledge unit of work around Business and Finance, Grade 6 students have have been thinking like entrepreneurs. The students learnt to identify opportunities to meet needs or wants in the community and propose a simple entrepreneurial idea - a product or service
