Around the College

National Reconciliation Week
During National Reconciliation Week, our Bayside Christian College community took time to reflect on the importance of listening, learning, and growing together as we walk in God’s love for reconciliation.
Across both Primary and Secondary, students participated in classroom activities and devotions centred around this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, “All In", encouraging all Australians to work together in building respect, understanding, and unity.
Students also wore a splash of yellow on Friday 29th May, representing the ochre of the land and standing together in recognition and support of reconciliation. 💛
Hans Christian Andersen JR. – A Spectacular Success
What an incredible journey it has been! After months of dedication, rehearsals, and hard work, our production of Hans Christian Andersen JR. was a resounding success.
Since auditions in Term 4, 2025, a cast of 57 students and a backstage crew of 7 students from Years 5–12 have worked tirelessly to bring this production to life. Their commitment, perseverance, and passion for the performing arts were evident in every performance. We were thrilled to perform to enthusiastic audiences, including a sold-out Friday evening show.
The feedback received from our community has been overwhelmingly positive. One audience member shared:
"It was sensational and of the utmost professionalism. We were in total awe. Truly one of the best shows I have ever attended. The young cast members were absolutely sensational, the singing was superb, and the dancing was first class."
While the performances themselves were outstanding, the production represented so much more than what was seen on stage. Students developed confidence, resilience, teamwork, leadership, and a deep appreciation for the collaborative nature of theatre. Every cast and crew member should be immensely proud of what they achieved.
A special farewell must be extended to our graduating Year 12 students, Bella Thomas, Izzie De Haan, and Nylah Holbrook, who took part in their final College musical production. Thank you for your contribution to our Performing Arts program over many years. We wish you every success in the exciting journeys ahead.
We would also like to acknowledge our Year 3/4 students, who worked incredibly hard on their pre-show performance and did a beautiful job entertaining audiences before the curtain rose. Thank you to Mrs Maree Coates and Mrs Sarah Cave for their organisation, support, and encouragement of these students.
Finally, we extend our sincere thanks to the broader production team, staff, families, volunteers, and supporters whose countless hours behind the scenes helped make this production possible. The success of Hans Christian Andersen JR. was truly a team effort, and we are grateful for every contribution.
Congratulations to all involved on an unforgettable production.
VET Expo
On the 19th June our VET Cookery and Agriculture trainers, Mrs Nasreen Varghese and Mr David Goschnick exhibited at the Vet Delivered to Secondary Students Expo held at Frankston Arts Centre. It was great to meet families from both Bayside and other schools to demonstrate and show off the VET courses we run!
