The Alvernia Collective Frock Swap

Sustainable Style in Action

La Foresta was buzzing last week with our Alvernia Collective Frock Swap, a wonderful celebration of sustainability, social justice, and community spirit.

Inspired by our Franciscan values, the initiative invites members of our community to give quality pre-loved clothing a second life while responding to the call of Laudato Si’ to care for our common home. The event also coincided with Sustainability Week at the College.

Thanks to the generosity of students and staff, La Foresta was filled with quality pre-loved clothing and accessories ready for a second life. Students exchanged tokens for pre-loved fashion finds and baked goods whilst raising funds to support the College's outreach initiatives.

The event was made possible with the support of our Year 12 Vinnies Sleepout students, who spent the evening beforehand sorting, preparing and displaying donations while deepening their understanding of homelessness, overconsumption, and the importance of sustainable living.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and participated. Together, we showed that fashion can be both stylish and impactful.
