Term One Wrap Up

As we approach the end of another busy and rewarding term it’s great to reflect on the many achievements and successes across our school community. Students across all year groups have worked hard and produced fantastic work to demonstrate their engagement in their learning.

Our students have shown excellent commitment to their learning, particularly in the NAPLAN testing and ongoing VCE and VCE VM assessments. The approach by our students in years 3, 5, 7 and 9 to the recent NAPLAN tests in literacy and numeracy was focused and committed. Our  year 7 – 10, VCE and VCE VM students have been preparing for and taking part in end of unit assessments and tests. Results and progress can be found via the PAM portal.

Another highlight this term has been the engagement of our students in Vocational Education and Training (VET) and work experience placements. These programs have provided students with practical, hands-on learning opportunities, equipping them with essential skills for their future careers. We extend our thanks to our industry partners and local businesses for supporting our students in gaining real-world experience.

Students at St Mary’s have experienced a wide range of incursions and excursions enriching our curriculum. Primary students have had the opportunity to participate in Science and Mathematics workshops, overnight camps and guest speakers from local government. Our secondary students have been able to explore Indonesian Film and cuisine, visit scientific laboratories and experience performances of VCE English texts. These and other experiences have deepened their understanding of various subjects and provided them with opportunities to apply their learning in real-world context.

Our dedicated team of teachers and learning support officers have worked tirelessly to support students in their learning journey. We acknowledge their hard work and thank them for their dedication to our students. We wish all of our students and families a restful and relaxing break over the holidays.
