We're Moving to Outlook!
Last Tuesday (2 April 2025), St Mary’s College successfully transitioned its email system from Gmail to Microsoft Outlook. This change has been years in the making and is designed to improve communication and organisation for both students and staff.
Why the Change?
We made the switch to Outlook because it aligns with what most businesses and organisations use worldwide. This means students will gain experience with a professional email platform that they are likely to encounter in the future. Additionally, Outlook offers powerful features that make staying organised and connected easier than ever.
What’s New in Outlook?
Outlook includes several useful tools to help you manage emails, tasks, and schedules more efficiently:
📌 Pinned Emails – Keep important emails at the top of your inbox for quick access.
📅 Integrated Calendar – Schedule and track events directly within your email.
✅ Built-in To-Do List – Organise tasks easily with Microsoft To Do.
📨 Email Scheduling – Write emails now and send them later at a scheduled time.
📂 Smart Organisation – Automatically sort emails into folders and categories.
🔍 Advanced Search – Find emails faster with powerful search filters.
📱 Access Anywhere – Use Outlook on desktop, mobile, or online—even without an internet connection.
⏳ Snooze Emails – Set emails to reappear when you're ready to deal with them.
✉️ Email Templates – Save time by reusing templates for common messages.
🔔 Custom Notifications – Get alerts only for the emails that matter most to you.
Important Reminder: Gmail is No Longer Active
Now that the transition to Outlook is complete, students and staff will no longer be able to send or receive emails through Gmail. All school-related emails must now be accessed and sent via Outlook. Please ensure you are logging into Outlook to check your messages and communicate with teachers, classmates, and staff.
