End of Term 1 Wrap-Up
As Term 1 comes to a close, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful school community for your ongoing support of the Library. It has been a fantastic term of reading, learning, and lunchtime fun!
Borrowing and Lunchtime Buzz 😊📚🎉We’ve seen incredible borrowing and returning of Library resources this term—well done, everyone! A special mention to the 75-100 (that’s right, seriously!) students who fill the Library each lunchtime, enjoying everything from paper planes, board games, puzzles, drawing, colouring and card games to chess and quiet reading. We’ve also loved the support from our Primary students on Mondays, even though we can no longer offer them computer games on laptops, they continue to come in to chat and engage with books and other resources.
Library Lovers’ Day & Easter Celebrations 🌟🎉🐰Valentine’s Day was extra special this year as we combined it with Library Lovers’ Day on February 14. Every student in the College received a bookmark, and we were deeply moved by the beautiful letters and cards written to the Library. Thank you for making our day so special!
Our Easter display and events has been another highlight, with students enthusiastically colouring Easter-themed posters. We hope these have made their way home to brighten up your fridges and walls as you prepare for this important celebration.
A Community of Generosity 😊📚🎉A massive thank you especially to all the families who have donated pre-loved Young Adult and Senior Fiction books. Your generosity is already making a difference, with new titles filling our shelves as we speak.
A Book Recommendation – Hunger Games Fans, Take Note!For those who love The Hunger Games series, Suzanne Collins’ latest release, The Sunrise on the Reaping, is a must-read! This prequel delves into the backstory of Haymitch Abernathy, and I devoured it in under 24 hours. We have it in the Library. Check on Oliver to see if it is available. Highly recommended for fans of the franchise!
Library Closure & Holiday Wishes 😊📚🐣A quick note for students—the Library will be closed at lunchtime this Thursday and Friday. We want to thank all the students who have used the Library so respectfully this term, especially on those busy days when space has been at a premium.
We appreciate your support throughout this action-packed Term 1 and wish you all a wonderful Easter holiday break. We look forward to welcoming you back in Term 2 for more reading, learning, and Library fun!
