Mrs Herrmann has once again thrilled and entertained us all with her latest display, based upon the recent publication of the continuing story of Runt.

The book’s author Craig Silvey, remains one of our favourite authors.

Runt was our book of the year when it was first published and the second instalment, “Runt and the diabolical dog napping”, which has been read by both Mrs Herrmann and myself, is every bit as enjoyable, heartfelt and the work of a very talented writer.

By chance it was revealed to us that two teachers’ precious dogs had chewed and destroyed a Year 12 SAC,  and in the second case chewed the corner of a Library book.  It was after this that Mrs Herrmann’s imagination and inspiration clicked in.

The call went out to staff to supply a photo of their pet dogs. Mrs Herrmann was inundated with pictures.  The ensuing display features a line-up of these wonderful four-legged creatures.

It is difficult to do this display justice, it is so much better in real life.

The students are invited, after reading and studying the evidence provided, to vote as to who the two culprits are.

Prizes will be awarded should anyone be successful.

Uniting Church Lunch

Under the wonderful leadership of Mr Leo McMahon, another group of enthusiastic Year 9 volunteers prepared a lovely lunch for our Tuesday Lunch commitment at the Uniting Church.

And now for something completely different.

I would like to celebrate our very own Mrs Alison Read, (pictured) upon winning the Scone Bake Off at the Recent Three Peaks Festival in Dunkeld.

For this event, the scones were judged in their “naked” state, no butter, cream or jam to be seen.

One of the esteemed judges of this wonderful event was Robin Wickens from the two hatted “Wickens” Restaurant at the Royal Mail in Dunkeld.

For those of us lucky enough to have sampled Alison’s wonderful offerings at various staff morning teas, we are not at all surprised by her success.
