Examination Period and the Alternate Exam Room
The examination period is fast approaching. Students should be starting to think about exams, clarifying topics they will be examined on with their teachers and beginning to revise for them.
The Alternative Exam Room (AER) will be in operation again. The AER is a room where students from Years 7-10 who require additional support can sit and complete their exams. The AER is supervised by Learning Support Officers who provide more support in the areas that students need.
The AER is a busy room, with explaining and rewording of questions for students who need that level of support. It is not for students who like to work in a quiet environment, the classroom is better for those who want a quiet space.
There is a new format for AER nominations for Semester 2 exams. Staff will make recommendations for the AER, after consulting with the student.
If students feel they would like to sit in the Alternate Exam Room, they will need to discuss this with their teachers.
Please note that if students are selected to sit their exams in the AER, they will sit all their exams there, irrespective of whether they are sitting modified exams for all subjects or not.
Year 10 students completing a Unit 2 VCE subject will be encouraged to sit in the exam room with their cohort, in preparation for Unit 3 and 4 exams, where minimal accommodations can be made.
Any queries, please contact subject teachers directly, Year Level Coordinators or Caroline Coggins.
Points to note:
If students would like to sit in the Alternate Exam Room, they need to discuss this directly with their teachers.
