Mothers Day Breakfast

Thank you to our P&F members for organising our Junior School Mother’s Day Fundraising Breakfast on Friday 8 May. Funds raised from the breakfast will be donated to a women’s charity as selected by the Year 6 Junior School Council.

It was wonderful to see so many mothers come together to enjoy quality time with their children and fellow HT mothers. Following the breakfast, parents had the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom and receive a special handmade gift from their child.

Art Club

Art Club is back for Term 2 and is as popular as ever! We’ve had a fantastic start over the past two weeks, with students in Year 5 and 6 enjoying this relaxed and social space to create and experiment with different materials.

Making the most of the beautiful autumn sunshine, students explored the school grounds to gather inspiration, using playdough and ink stamp pads to capture a variety of textures from the playground. We are so lucky to have such inspiring outdoor spaces to support our artmaking.

This week, students turned their attention to paper construction, creating imaginative foldable books using tissue and coloured paper. It has been wonderful to see their creativity and enthusiasm continue to grow each session.

Our Year 4 students will have their artworks displayed as part of the Youth Art for Reconciliation 2026 - an exhibition showcasing student artwork from schools across the City of Monash.

The exhibition will run from 29 May – 7 June 2026 at The Track Gallery. I hope you may be able to visit the exhibition at some stage to celebrate and support the students’ wonderful work.

The Year 4 students have been busy creating vibrant collage artworks inspired by contemporary Indigenous artist Kait James. Using her hand-embroidered tea towel artworks as inspiration, each student has created an individual A3 collage piece that will be featured in the exhibition.

Well done, Year 4s!
