U15 Flag Football Victorian State Championship
On 31 March, ten students from Years 7 to 9 proudly represented Huntingtower at the U15 Flag Football Victorian State Championship. This marked the first time Huntingtower has competed in the event, making the experience both exciting and memorable for all involved.
In the lead-up to the Championship, the team committed to an intensive training schedule, practicing three times a week over several months. Their dedication and preparation were evident throughout the day.
The team played four highly competitive games against schools from across Victoria, demonstrating impressive skill, agility, and determination. Beyond their on-field performance, students embraced the opportunity to learn, have fun, and build a strong sense of team spirit.
The highlight of the day came in the final match, where Huntingtower secured a thrilling victory by a single touchdown in what was arguably the best game of the tournament.
A huge thank you goes to Nick Dinnison, Head of Primary Physical Education, for his initiative in introducing flag football to secondary students, as well as for his dedication, support, and expert coaching on the day.
The students are already looking forward to competing again next year!
EISM Athletics Training
With just one week to go, the Huntingtower EISM Athletics Team is looking strong, focused, and well prepared for competition. Training sessions have seen impressive turnouts, with students demonstrating commitment, determination, and enthusiasm , clear signs the team is in great shape for the big day.
A special thank you to our dedicated Huntingtower Athletics Captains and Athletics Coaches, who have been working tirelessly to train, guide, and motivate their teammates, fostering teamwork, resilience, and a positive team spirit while ensuring each session runs smoothly and effectively.
Please join me in wishing the team the very best of luck as they compete on Monday 18 May at the EISM Division 1 Athletics Carnival. We look forward to seeing their hard work and preparation pay off.
