Sustainability in Action

RASPBERRY PLANTING

Over the past 2 weeks our students have planted around 50 raspberry plants that we potted up last year as part of our Fruits For The Future project. The children helped to dig holes, plant the raspberries add fresh soil and mulch. Hopefully we’ll have a good crop this year.

GUMBOOTS

Last week we started using gumboots that have been donated to the school. We have a collection of about 60 pairs for our students to use when our gardens are wet and muddy. Special thanks to all who donated.

WINTER PLANTING

In recent week our students have been tidying up our garden beds by digging the soil, adding mulch and manure. We have planted lots of veggies and herbs including garlic, silverbeet, broad beans, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, onion, coriander, and parsley. These veggies will be used in our school lunch program.
